Killers aren’t supposed to strike twice… Years ago, a madman kidnapped Anna, cutting off her finger before vanishing without a trace. Today, Anna lives in New Orleans, writing dark thrillers under another name. She finally feels safe. Until, suddenly, Anna’s new life begins to crumble. She is followed, her apartment broken into. Disturbing letters arrive from a crazed fan. And then a close friend disappears. Detective Quentin Malone is more concerned with the recent murders of two women in the French Quarter than Anna’s case. But after a third victim is found—a redhead like Anna, her finger severed—Malone is forced to acknowledge that Anna is his link to the killer… and, if he doesn’t act fast, she could be the next target.
