Tess Gerritsen began her career writing romantic fiction and this, one of her early ones (published in 1993 in America) has that feel to it. It’s fun and it is interesting to see how she has developed, but if you are expecting a gritty chiller this is not it. It’s cosy crime with a bit of a spark. If you are a fan you really should read it for interest sake; if you enjoy romantic crime, you’ll love it.
