Tense and layered with suspense, Nikki Vogel’s Just One Catch opens at the funeral of its narrator’s parents, whose sudden, shocking deaths were caused by her father’s “impaired driving”. Then there’s a question around the cause of her parents’ death. Harlow can’t believe her father would have driven in an “impaired” state.

Adding to her turmoil, Harlow needs Hummingbird House, it’s her sanctuary, and she’s also wracked by panic attacks and hallucinations from her past.

In the context of Harlow having thirty days to decide what to do, a race-against-time thriller ramps up, with flashbacks to a chilling childhood event upping the suspense. Escalating with paranoia, suspicion, slippery truths and murky memories, Just One Catch  culminates with several twists in a tale that will satisfy fans of fast-paced psychological thrillers and readers who are into Lisa Unger and Lisa Jewell.
