Susan was only nine when her beloved mother died. Not long after, still a tiny child, she was sent away to school. In just one year her entire world had fallen apart.

Struggling to cope so far from home, Susan pushed away the one person she loved best: her father.

Years passed, and the legacy of her tragic childhood remained as poignant as ever. But slowly, Susan understood that to overcome her grief, she had to learn to love - and trust - again.
