The Last Lesson

The Last Lesson Synopsis

Forty years after the unsolved murder of a beloved teacher, a former pupil sets out to discover the truth.
2018 - Miss Alice Diamond's brutal murder has remained unsolved for four decades. Mary Locke, once her troubled pupil, has never been able to shake the belief that something she did at sixteen led to her teacher's death. When Mary reconnects with an old school friend, long-buried memories are stirred. Determined to face her childhood demons, she begins searching for answers that have eluded her for forty years.
1979 - During a creative writing exercise, Miss Diamond uncovers disturbing material in Mary's work. Uncertain whether Mary's words reflect truth or imagination, Alice feels compelled to act. Over the course of a single, increasingly fraught day, she grapples with personal and professional pressures-hours that will ultimately prove to be her last.
As Mary finally confronts what happened on that fateful day, she must navigate the darkest corridors of her past. Will the truth set her free, or imprison her all over again?
