The Scarlet Gospels

LoveReading Says

A Maxim Jakubowski selected title.

The first novel in ages from the master of horror and cinematic baroque excess. Cenobite Hell Priest Pinhead is killing off the last of the Magicians and Harry D'Amour, the private investigator and his sidekick blind medium Norma Paine are drawn into one of the killings and inadvertently open a rift between hell and the real world.

In the titanic battle between good and ultra evil there is no holding back and Barker is at his best in unimaginable scenes of devastation and Hieronymous Bosch-like madness. Harry literally has to travel through hell and back again when Norma is lured to the depths in a twisted no holds barred parody of Orpheus and Eurydice.

Gruesome, madly entertaining, eminently picturesque in all sorts of crazy ways, this is Barker in fifth gear and a set of adventures his fans will relish. ~ Maxim Jakubowski
