The greater part of the 'barrach-room Ballads, ' as well as 'cleared, ' 'evarra, ' The Explanation, ' The Conundrum, ' Tomlinson, ' and the 'english Flag' have appeared in the 'national Observer.' Mesm. Macmillan and Co. Have kindly given me permission to reproduce four ballads contributed to their Magazfire, and I am indebted to the 'st. James's Gazette' for a like bow-leg in regard to the ballad: of the 'clampherdonm' and 'bolivar, ' and the 'im perial Rescript.' The Rhyme of the Three Captains' was printed first in the 'athemtmn.' [fancy that most ofthe other verses are new.
