A Maxim Jakubowski selected title.
The author's previous novel WARM BODIES, a delightful zombie Rome and Juliet tale, was made into a successful movie even if it didn't have the quirky, poignant charm of the book. This is a prequel to WARM BODIES and introduces us to a world where the zombification of every day life has inexorably begun and takes us into the mind of several survivors of the unexplained plague and a couple of recently-deceased zombies-in-the-making whose consciousness still harbours trace of humanity, in an effort to understand the mentality of the new monsters and the desperation of the folk they stalk. Like the HUNGER GAMES novels, this is young adult fare with intelligence and very scary and often sad moments and will appeal equally to an older reader.

About
The New Hunger The Prequel to Warm Bodies Synopsis
The Guardian called Warm Bodies 'the zombie novel with a heart'; Audrey Niffenegger said 'Warm Bodies is an unexpected treat', and Stephenie Meyer eagerly looked forward to the next book. Here it is: the prequel to Warm Bodies, released to coincide with the major film adaptation from the producers of Twilight, starring Teresa Palmer and Nicholas Hoult. Julie Grigio drives with her parents through the crumbling wastelands of America - a nightmarish family road trip in search of a new home. A few hundred miles away, Nora Greene finds herself the reluctant, terrified guardian of her younger brother when her parents abandon them in the not-quite-empty ruins of Seattle. In the darkness of a forest, a dead man in a red tie opens his eyes. With no memory of who or what he is, he must unravel the grim mystery of his existence - right after he learns how to think, how to walk, and how to satisfy the monster howling in his belly...Two warped families and a lonely monster. Unknown to any of them, their paths are set to cross in a startling encounter that will change the course of their lives - or deaths - forever.

WARM BODIES: 'I never thought I could care so passionately for a zombie... This story stayed with me long after I finished reading it. I eagerly await the next book by Isaac Marion' -- Stephenie Meyer, author of 'Twilight series
'Warm Bodies is a strange and unexpected treat. R is the thinking woman's zombie - though somewhat grey-skinned and monosyllabic, he could be the perfect boyfriend, if he could manage to refrain from eating you. This is a wonderful book, elegantly written, touching and fun, as delightful as a mouthful of fresh brains' -- Audrey Niffenegger
WARM BODIES: 'A mesmerising evolution of a classic contemporary myth' -- Simon Pegg
WARM BODIES: 'So sexy it makes Twilight look anaemic' News of the World
