The Jenny's Revenge - The complete saga

LoveReading Says

A swashbuckling tale of an all women pirate hunting crew. A gripping saga in one book. The Jenny’s Revenge, a ship and crew made of all women who have had their lives destroyed by pirates. This three book saga is an adventure that sees the crew come together to form a supportive community, heal from their pasts and work together towards a common goal - hunting pirates to get their revenge.

This is a brilliant concept for the story and I found it really well-written and entertaining. Book one, draws you in with a gripping if violent hook, following Anne as she is attacked and brought aboard Jenny's Revenge to recover and start a new life if she wishes. From there the ship sets sail, encountering some of the most feared pirates in history, expanding their crew, taking losses but still moving forward.

At the start of each chapter a term word used within the story is provided with a definition. I thought this was a really great way to keep the reader up to speed with the terminology in the book, while allowing the story to flow and feel authentic. I didn’t know Larboard was used before port to describe the left side of a vessel, so I liked that I learned something too as I read.

There’s plenty of highs and lows throughout the book, it offers an emotional rollercoaster that keeps you reading until the very end to hear the outcome for everyone. The fight scenes were gripping and I was rooting for Jenny's crew, hoping that they’d make it through each mission. Although the main aim of The Jenny’s Revenge is to attack pirates, and this happens regularly through the three books, the plot doesn’t become staid, there’s more of the seas being discovered, the story taking us from the Caribbean to Florida and England, there’s new characters and threats to face that keeps the story fresh.

In all this is a really entertaining, empowering all female saga that delivers action and adventure.
