The initial antagonism between Ezra and Anton builds the tension before switching to a sarcastic witty banter that's sweet and maintains the essence of each character. As the story develops and intimacy begins to grow between the characters we get to see them really flourish. Ezra starts to face the complex relationship with his parents and his superstitions making him feel personally responsible for every loss.

Anton has to work though conflicted feelings about coming out to the public, wanting to inspire the next generation of players to be themselves while wanting the media to focus on his hockey. They’re able to bring out the best in each other on and off the ice in the first of a scalding-hot romance series you’ll be skating through at speed.
