The Vintage Girl by Hester Browne

Lovereading view...

A light frothy tale of ‘girl falls for someone important and knows not how to cope’ tale where young Evie goes off to a Scottish castle to value its antique collection, learns some family secrets and falls for the heir. Lots of chuckles, some nice stories about the antiques and a grand ball (the dancing sort) to enjoy. Really good fun. It was originally published as Swept off Her Feet a couple of years ago.

If you like Hester Browne you might also like to read books by Helen Fielding, Kate Long and Elizabeth Buchan.

Synopsis

The Vintage Girl by Hester Browne

When Evie Nicholson is asked to visit Kettlesheer Castle in Scotland to archive the family heirlooms, she jumps at the chance. Evie's passion for antiques means that, for her, the castle is a treasure trove of mysteries just waiting to be uncovered. But in each heirloom lies a story, and in the course of her investigations Evie stumbles upon some long-buried family secrets. Add handsome, gloomy heir Robert McAndrew and a traditional candlelit gala to the mix, and Evie's heart is sent reeling with an enthusiasm that may just extend beyond the Kettlesheer silver...

Reviews

An adorable heroine, divine hero and gorgeous writing - basically, it's just perfect. You'll LOVE this book, I promise! * Jill Mansell on The Runaway Princess * Deliciously addictive * Cosmopolitan * Clear your diary and turn off your phone. Prince Harry can call you back later ... a book you won't want to put down * Chrissie Manby on The Runaway Princess * A lovable, self-conscious, hopelessly romantic heroine and a dark and dashing leading man, a Scottish castle full of history and romance, and as much appeal and complexity as a Scottish reel * Library Journal *

It's the first site that I visit when deciding on the next set of books to buy. A particular treat is being able to download an extract.
