"Delightfully sinister and spooky, take a walk on the dark side with these thirteen chilling short stories of the ghostly and supernatural."
I can highly recommend these thirteen (such a perfect number) wickedly wonderful and original short stories by some of our best writers of the ghostly and supernatural.
This collection of tales is by the same creators of the fabulous LoveReading Star Book The Winter Spirits which concentrated on ghostly stories over the Christmas period, and The Haunting Season which delighted our Winter 2021 Guest Editor Carole Matthews who chose and described it as: “Perfect bite-sized pieces of supernatural scariness”.
The author's celebrating the witching hour are at their top of their game, and I actively hunt down books by such as Catriona Ward, Stuart Turton, and Andrew Michael Hurley. I love a good short story, written well they can be oh-so piercing and hit with huge impact, and that is certainly the case here.
The tales range through time and location, in one you will experience a Victorian tale of a dolls house and artic expedition, in another a reading of tarot cards in Paris, and yet another dwells in a girls boarding school in 1932.
All of these stories delight in the creepy and uncanny and spread chills of goosebumps as I read. Highly recommended and a LoveReading Star Book, The Witching Hour contains thirteen beautifully judged slices of sinister and eerie reading entertainment.
