Game of Thrones is back!
As this epic fantasy series comes back for the 4th series the publisher has relaunched all of George R. R. Martin's books and we think you will be hard-pressed to find a reason not to read the originals. We agree with the Guardian, which said of the series… 'The sheer-mind-boggling scope of this epic has sent other fantasy writers away shaking their heads ... Its ambition: to construct the Twelve Caesars of fantasy fiction, with characters so venomous they could eat the Borgias'.
P.S. News of a super compelling read published 30 March. Little Egypt by Lesley Glaister. With a flavour of I Capture the Castle, a hint of Atonement and a dash of A Passage to India, it is a richly dark read with comic undertones and an acute eye for detail.
P.P.S. The longlist for The Baileys Women's Prize for Fiction 2014 has just been announced – our favs – Americanah which has just won the prestigious National Critics Circle US prize, Burial Rites and The Undertaking. The Man Booker winner, The Luminaries, is also on the longlist.
P.P.P.S. For all fans of Romantic Fiction the RNA have just announced their award winning books for 2014 and they are now in our Book Awards category. But special mention must go to A Night on the Orient Express by Veronica Henry that won The Romantic Novel of the Year.
