JOHN LAVERICK, a regular guest lecturer aboard ocean liners, is a chartered engineer who has spent his career designing, building and maintaining facilities for large ships and small vessels. As a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, John is delighted that the publication of his book coincides with the organisation's bicentenary.
