The author is 61 years of age and grew up in Dunedin, New Zealand. He went to Irish Catholic schools and was first taught by nuns and then by brothers. He has worked at many different jobs, joined the army and he moved to the USA when he was 26 years of age. He is married to a U.S. citizen, and they have two grown-up children -- Jessica and Adam. They have resided in Pembroke, Massachusetts for the last thirty-two years in a quiet neighbourhood.
