Barbara Baj studierte Deutsche Philologie, Neuere Deutsche Literatur und Slavistik an der Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. Die Promotion schloss sie an der Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität Greifswald im Fach Deutsche Philologie ab. Sie ist als Dozentin für Deutsche Sprache und freie Übersetzerin tätig.
