With a contemporary London setting The Pure is an authentic and gripping, high-octane, action-packed, adrenaline-pumping espionage thriller for fans of the Jason Bourne books. An ex-Mossad agent has information, incredibly damaging to the Israeli government, that he is planning to send to WikiLeaks but he knows once the story is out there his previous employers will want him neutralised. A Piece of Passion' from the publisher... ‘The murky world of Mossad is not covered much in contemporary fiction and it was this, along with knowing Jake’s writing from his two previous novels, which initially attracted me to The Pure. Jake interviewed ex-Mossad officers while doing his research for the novel and has a real handle on a very complex subject as a result. This realism and the relentless pace and energy of his writing, including a brilliant depiction of London’s grimy underworld, the Iranian nuclear threat, gunfights and car chases galore meant I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. Nothing beats a marked man on the run with a gun, a beautiful woman and a big secret!’ – Alison Rae, Managing Editor, Polygon
