Amanda James Book and Novel

Amanda James - Author

Amanda James was born in Sheffield and now lives in Bristol with her husband and two cats. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, singing and spending lots of time with her grandson. She also admits to spending far too much time chatting on Twitter and Facebook! Amanda recently left her teaching role (teaching history to sixth form pupils) to follow her ambition to live her life doing what she most enjoys—writing. Amanda is a published author of short stories. Amanda’s novel A Stitch in Time will be released in April 2013.

Below is a Q&A with this author.

Who’s your favourite author?
Dean Koontz. He writes beautifully and has meaning and mystery in his books.

Who is your favourite literary character?
There are so many! Okay - Gandalf I think. He is fearless, represents good over evil, and prepared to give his life for others.

What’s the first book you remember reading?
One of the Famous Five books by Enid Blyton. I loved the idea of kids solving mysteries, going off on their own and outwitting adults!

How would you describe your novel?
A time travelling adventure full of excitement, love and derring-do.

What three things would you take if you were to be stranded on a desert island?
My laptop, (and some way of recharging it!) wine, and after I had a nice little holiday, a genie in a bottle so I could wish to be rescued!

If you like Amanda James you might also like to read books by Melanie Rose, Cecelia Ahern and Jane Lovering.
