January 2010 Good Housekeeping selection. This book, say its doyenne authors Stacey and Fairley, is a personal beauty-counter consultant to accompany you as you shop for effective, budget glamour. All the products (from head to toe, scrubs to balms, luscious lips to perfect powders) have been trialled and scored by testers, and the vast majority of products slip in under the £10 mark (there are also super-steals for under a fiver, a handful of miracle-workers for around £20 and daisy symbols for organic and petrochemical-free items). You can dip in and out for cost-conscious confidence any time you fancy a change of product or just want that inexplicable lift that comes from a five-minute relaxing soak in beauty talk.
