Under One Roof: The Complete Series 1-10: A Full-Cast BBC Radio Comedy Drama
"A light-hearted comedy drama about a mother, daughter and grandmother living together under one roof – based on the stories by Guardian columnist Michele Hanson What does it feel like to be middle-aged? For Gillian it feels like being twenty-seven in your own head, sixty-five in the mirror, ninety to your children and your mother still thinking you're twelve… Gillian lives with her 19-year-old daughter and 89-year-old mother, and life is a constant balancing act. Who is the chief dissenter among the three women who live noisily together under one roof: opinionated daughter, Chloe, very opinionated elderly mother Berenice, or the poor beleaguered Gillian in-between? Stuck in the middle, Gillian feels she must carry on being sensible, while everyone else - the young and the old - run amok. Her mother grumps about in the garden and her daughter sobs upstairs. She finds on these occasions that she tends to play football with the dog. For Gillian, living in a rather dramatic household, empty nest syndrome seems a delightful prospect… Cast and credits Written by Wendy Lee, Jenny Landreth, Sally Worboyes, Mike Walker Based on stories by Michele Hanson Directed by Cathryn Hor, Tabitha Potts, Marylin Imrie Produced by Marylin Imrie Gillian - Paola Dionisotti (series 1-6), Janet Maw (series 7-10) Bernice - Edna Dore Chole - Luisa Bradshaw-White Other parts played by John Rowe, Frances Jeater, Bruce Alexander, Angela Down, Ann Beach, Geoffrey Whitehead, Tilly Gaunt, Andrew Falvey, Ben Crowe, Tilly Vosburgh, Priyanga Elan, Giles Fagan, Irene Sutcliffe, Ann Beach, Harry Myers, Alison Pettitt, Sarah Jane Holm, Sean Maguire, Andrew Falvey, Iwan Thomas, Brian Parr, David Antrobus. Paradise Lost in Cyberspace: A BBC Radio sci-fi comedy
"Stephen Moore stars in this dystopian comedy set in a future where living beyond 70 is prohibited 30th Century Britain, and the calamitous collapse of the pension system means compulsory euthanasia for all 70-year-olds. But a clerical error spells disaster for 69-year-old George Smith, who suddenly finds himself facing his demise a year early. Feisty George isn't going to take this lying down, and goes into battle with Central Admin - and the terrifying TV crew from This Was Your Life, who want to broadcast his imminent death live on air. On the run with bikini-clad bounty hunter Andrea Sunbeam, George goes underground, where he meets Public Enemy Number One (aka Mrs Cookson), the leader of a gang of senior citizen anarchists called the Old Age Paramilitaries. They've developed a secret weapon to destroy Central Admin's computer - and, armed with a new face and an array of OAP gadgets, George is just the man to use it... With the future of civilisation at stake, can George and his old age pals save humanity? A follow-up to the cult hit Paradise Lost in Space, this lively Logan's Run parody by Colin Swash stars Stephen Moore (The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) as George, Lorelei King as Andrea and Edna Doré as Mrs Cookson, with co-stars including Geoffrey McGivern, Melanie Hudson and Christopher Douglas. Among the guest stars are Peter Serafinowicz and Lewis MacLeod. Lost Property: The Complete Series: A BBC Radio 4 dramatisation
"This history of relatives lost and found was originally broadcast on 3, 10 and 17 May 2011 in the 'Afternoon Play' slot. The first play, 'The Wrong Label', is set in London in 1941. Alice knows that to stop your children from being evacuated is tantamount to siding with Hitler. In 'The Year My Mother Went Missing', it's 1979, and not the first time that Ruthie's mother Queenie has gone missing - but usually she leaves a note. The final play, 'A Telegram from the Queen', is set in 2011 and, as Alice's 100th birthday present, Ruthie sets out to put her family back together again. The 'Lost Property' plays star Rosie Cavaliero as the narrator (and later as Ruthie), Shannon Flynn as the younger Ruthie; Alex Tregear, Jane Whittenshaw and Edna Doré as Alice; and Gary Beadle as Ted. 'The Year My Mother Went Missing' was the winner of the Best Audio Drama at the Radio Drama Awards 2012."
