"Dava Sobel's thoughtful play brings to life the story of Nicolaus Copernicus, the Renaissance astronomer and mathematician who proposed the heliocentric model of the universe in which the Sun stands at the center. Plagued by self-doubt and threatened by religious censure, Copernicus resisted the publication of his work until just before his death in 1543. The play follows Copernicus in those final years as he works to complete his research with the help of Georg Rheticus, a young disciple from Wittenberg, Germany.
Includes a conversation with playwright Dava Sobel, author of "A More Perfect Heaven: How Copernicus Revolutionized the Cosmos."

"Nikki Carr is a deliciously silly and hilarious comedienne. Most recently known as the charismatic runner up on NBC's 2014 season of Last Comic Standing, she propelled her way through the competition with quick and effective wit, hilariously relatable anecdotes, and the courage to laugh in the face of all the things she could cry about. Die Hauptfigur des Hörspiels - Herr Ubu - ist Regierungssprecher und persönlicher Zeremonienmeister am Hofe des sächsischen Königs. Der feige, fette und machtbesessene Ubu wird von seiner sächsischen Gattin angestiftet, durch ein Attentat den Königsthron zu usurpieren. Mit Unterstützung eines Offiziers der Leibgarde des Königs und dreier Spießknechte, gelingt ihm sogar der tödliche Staatsstreich und so wird er zum illegitimen Herrscher über Sachsen.
Aber der neue König ist ein gefräßiges Monster. Er besteht fast nur aus Bauch, ein Merkmal seiner pataphysikalischen Herkunft und Allgegenwart. Er mordet, massakriert den Hofstaat, bereichert sich maßlos auf Kosten seines Volkes, weil und wie es ihm gerade Spaß macht.
König Ubu begeht seine Verbrechen aber nicht nur, um Ruhm und Herrschaft zu erlangen, er kämpft auch blutrünstig um die Blutwurst, den Regierungs-Rolls-Royce, den 'schiddscheriehngriehnen' Lodenmantel und um den Regenschirm - die trivialen Bedürfnisse des Spießers bestimmen seine Antriebskräfte.
