Searching for Jesus Bible Study: Audio: The Risen Christ Is the Good News of Easter
"Easter signifies 'rebirth.' While the season of Lent reminds you to place God's ways, not your appetites, as the guiding principle for your life, Eastertide calls you to feast and rejoice in Jesus' resurrection. It is an invitation to join with the angel at the empty tomb who said, 'Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen' (Matthew 28:5-6). Jesus' first words at the start of John's Gospel were directed to two men who were following after him: 'What are you looking for?' (1:38 NRSV). Jesus didn't break out a sermon, or perform a miracle, or try to prove he was the Messiah. He simply asked a question and then offered an invitation: 'Come and see' (verse 39). Jesus' first words after the resurrection, near the end of John's Gospel, were directed at another follower: 'Who is it you are looking for?' (20:15). Jesus then revealed himself by saying this follower's name: 'Mary' (verse 16). Her response? 'I have seen the Lord!' (verse 18). In Searching for Jesus, a five-session Bible study, bestselling author and pastor Rich Villodas reveals how Jesus is still asking this question to his followers today. Beginning with Jesus' appearance to Mary Magdalene at the empty tomb, you will journey with his followers over the next forty days as Jesus appeared in their midst, walked the road with them, invited them to touch his hands and side, ate with them, and then commissioned them to spread the message of the gospel to the world. In each case, when someone was looking for Jesus-seeking to know that he had risen from the grave and conquered death-he met them in their search and assured them that they would be found in him. The Audio Bible Studies series provides a unique audio learning experience. Unlike a traditional audiobook's direct narration of a book's text, this audio Bible study includes high-quality, live audio sessions from the author that cover important Bible-based topics. These sessions will reflect the ambiance of the unique recording locations, immersing the listener into the teaching. While not required for the audio experience, these studies are designed to partner with the coordinating study guide, sold separately."

The Gospel After Christendom: An Introduction to Cultural Apologetics
"Even after Christendom, our culture is fertile ground for gospel renewal. We need apologetics for the whole church tailored to this moment. Since the fall of Christendom, Christians in Western countries can no longer assume their neighbors share basic familiarity with the Bible or even a sense for God. We now face a strange mixture of apathy and antagonism toward the gospel. Some people view Christianity as yesterday's news. For others, it's the source of today's problems. Lately, though, more and more are open to the idea that Christianity may be tomorrow's hope. Amid these confusing and conflicting shifts, we need apologetics for the whole church and not just for those who enjoy arguing. Cultural apologetics can help uncover opportunities to proclaim the gospel as the only way to fulfill longings for truth, beauty, and goodness. Churches that embrace this approach can be strengthened and renewed as they demonstrate an appealing and convicting way of life that stands out in the world. In The Gospel after Christendom, scholars and practitioners from the Keller Center for Cultural Apologetics define cultural apologetics, explain its biblical and historical grounding, and demonstrate its importance for the church today. Their diverse viewpoints, united in the gospel, offer a balanced approach that can guide Christians to share the Good News with their neighbors in this challenging but exciting time. Flowers - Rachel Gilson - Collin Hansen - Rebecca McLaughlin - Ivan Mesa - Alan Noble - Gavin Ortlund - Derek Rishmawy - Daniel Strange - Bob Thune - Christopher Watkin - Trevin Wax"

Two Views on Homosexuality, the Bible, and the Church
"Unique among most debates on homosexuality, this book presents a constructive dialogue between people who disagree on significant ethical and theological matters, and yet maintain a respectful and humanizing posture toward one another. Few topics are more divisive today than homosexuality. Two Views on Homosexuality, the Bible, and the Church brings a fresh perspective to a well-worn debate. While Christian debates about homosexuality are most often dominated by biblical exegesis, this book seeks to give much-needed attention to the rich history of received Christian tradition, bringing the Bible into conversation with historical and systematic theology. To that end, both theologians and biblical scholars--well accomplished in their fields and conversant in issues of sexuality and gender--articulate and defend each of the two views: - Affirming - represented by William Loader and Megan K. DeFranza - Traditional - represented by Wesley Hill and Stephen R. Holmes The main essays are followed by insightful responses that interact with their fellow essayists with civility. Holding to a high view of Scripture, a commitment to the gospel and the church, and a love for people--especially those most affected by this topic--the contributors wrestle deeply with the Bible and theology, especially the prohibition texts, the role of procreation, gender complementarity, and pastoral accommodation. The book concludes with reflections from general editor Preston Sprinkle on the future of discussions on faith and sexuality. Footnotes are included in the audiobook companion PDF download. The Counterpoints series presents a comparison and critique of scholarly views on topics important to Christians that are both fair-minded and respectful of the biblical text. Each volume is a one-stop reference that allows readers to evaluate the different positions on a specific issue and form their own, educated opinion."
