It reaffirms and completes the messages brought by earlier prophets, including Abraham, Moses, and Jesus, whom it honors as great messengers of God. Its content encompasses narratives of past nations, parables, laws for personal conduct and society, profound spiritual insights, and descriptions of Paradise and Hell. More than just a text to be read, the Quran is primarily a revelation to be recited aloud. Its rhythmic and rhyming prose is central to Islamic worship and culture, memorized in its entirety by millions. It serves as the primary foundation for Islamic theology, jurisprudence, ethics, and civilization, guiding the beliefs and daily lives of the faithful. Muslims regard engagement with the Quran—through recitation, contemplation, and application—as the highest form of communion with the Divine."

"بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم القرآن الكريم هو الكتاب المقدس الرئيسي في الإسلام، الذي يؤمن المسلمون أنه كلام الله المنزل على النبي محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم عن طريق الملاك جبرائيل بوحي من الله، للبيان والإعجاز، والمنقول عنه بالتواتر. يتعبد المسلمون بتلاوته وهو آخر الكتب السماوية بعد التوراة والإنجيل، ويعد أعظم الكتب العربية بلاغةً وفصاحة. يحتوي القرآن على 114 سورة تصنف إلى مكية ومدنية وفقاً لمكان وزمان نزول الوحي. وقد نزل القرآن على النبي محمد خلال 23 سنة تقريباً، بعد بلوغه سن الأربعين، واستمر حتى وفاته عام 11 هـ/632م. يؤمن المسلمون أن القرآن قد حفظ بدقة على يد الصحابة بعد أن أملاه الوحي على النبي، وأن آياته محكمات مفصلات، تخاطب جميع الأجيال في كل العصور، وتتضمن كل المناسبات وتحيط بكل الأحوال. بعد وفاة النبي محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، جمع القرآن في مصحف واحد بعد أن كان متفرقاً. ويعتقد المسلمون أن القرآن في حد ذاته معجزة للنبي محمد، وأن إعجازه غير قابل للتحدي، كما يعتبرونه دليلاً على نبوته، وتتويجاً لسلسلة الرسالات السماوية التي بدأت مع صحف آدم، مروراً بصحف إبراهيم، وتوراة موسى، وزبور داود، وصولاً إلى إنجيل عيسى عليهم السلام. اشتق اسم 'قرآن' من المصدر 'قرأ'، بمعنى الجمع والضم، وسُمي قرآنًا لأنه يجمع الآيات والسور ويضم بعضها إلى بعض. كما له أسماء أخرى عديدة ذكرت في القرآن نفسه مثل 'الفرقان' و'الهدى' و'الذكر' و'الحكمة' و'كلام الله' و'الكتاب'. ويستخدم مصطلح 'مصحف' للإشارة إلى النسخ المكتوبة منه. نزل القرآن في شهر رمضان المبارك، وفي ليلة القدر التي هي خير من ألف شهر، مما يجعل له مكانة خاصة في هذا الشهر الفضيل."
