American Whoreson - The Builder
"Traveling east after witnessing the aftermath of the Massacre at Wounded Knee, the young man, who had seen more death in his short life than most people encounter in their entire lives, sought to rebuild the ruins of his life. His father had abandoned his mother, who had turned to prostitution to survive. She was shot when he was twelve, leaving him alone. Having learned to read at a very young age, his intelligence and attention to detail took him places typically reserved for his elders. The young man rode the train east, determined to leave the past behind. However, before he even reached his first station, where he would change trains, his circumstances shifted. This could have been just another train ride in a lifetime of journeys, but it was not. This single trip through the snow-covered American Upper Midwest changed the trajectory of his life from that point forward. The young man advanced in stages, moving from one situation to the next, occasionally staying just a step ahead of the law, until he arrived in Florida to tackle a project so large that multiple predecessors had failed. What sort of man would undertake a project of this size, one that would cause as much harm as this one would, and see it through to the end? "

Two Too Tall Widows Find Love and Adventure: And Their Children Helped
"Tall girls should stick together. Love arrives when you stop looking for it. One of the widows, a teleprompter operator, impresses one of her clients so much that he returns a year later to find her. He brings his widowed sister and her daughter. The daughter sets her mother up with the teleprompter operator's single brother, a botanist who spends much of his life on an airboat in the Florida swamps researching alien invasives and endangered plants. Other romances also blossom. Both of the guys have secrets. The botanist has friends and associates who hide in the swamp, who rely on him for support as he relies on them for information. The other guy, who started all this, has worked with espionage agencies, and while he is determined to leave the past behind, it returns to drag him into action again. A hurricane upends everything, and rescues become the order of the day."

Finding Love on the Flight Line
"After being rescued by helicopter from a yacht, the elderly owner of an air charter company sets his grandson up on a date with the paramedic who rescued him. The grandson has recently assumed the manager position at the charter company's latest depot at the same airport where the paramedic is stationed. Whether one considers their first weekend together a success depends entirely on one's viewpoint. They like each other, but the family hates her. She reciprocates. The air charter company's chief pilot, a retired Air Force Colonel, recognizes that the paramedic and the grandson are not well matched but that the charter company's chief mechanic is a much better option for the paramedic. Her attempts at matchmaking are met with limited success until a pivotal event occurs half a year after the helicopter rescue. Meanwhile, an attorney, a refugee from his father's established Chicago law firm, who is the county's agent for the airport properties, invites his sister, a successful entrepreneur with a 3D Printing business, to move her company to the airport he manages. Since her company relies heavily on contract air courier services to deliver the specialized parts she produces, having an air charter company on the same property should give her a significant competitive advantage. The attorney's sister's new target market is 3D-printed bones and joints. The paramedic's sister is an orthopedic surgeon and joins the enterprise. So, we now have three potential couples. They take their sweet time sorting it all out. They perform airborne rescues, weather a hurricane, produce an airshow, support humanitarian causes, and grow the local family as relatives and friends join the synergy. The story is easy to read and contains nothing that anyone except followers of Governor Greg Abbott or Donald Trump should find offensive."

"Female dragons have come to earth to find a safe place to lay their eggs, protected from predation by males of their own kind. They need humans to care for the eggs, keep the hatchlings from killing each other, and protect them from rival males. Unfortunately, before the dragons can leave their young in the humans' care, humans must stop killing each other. In surprise lighting-swift raids, fifty fire-breathing female dragons invisible to radar quickly disable all the world's air forces and navies, destroying any weapon that can threaten them. Angry at having been abandoned, the male dragons arrive and attack human cities to demonstrate their worthiness to mate with the females hiding from them. Since the female dragons have left the human population without air defenses, the unarmed aerobatic teams rally to defend the cities and drive the male dragons to the females so they can mate. After mating, the males are forced back to where they came from, a feat that would have been impossible without human interference. The female dragons leave the eggs with a team of young adults, many of whom are jet pilots, to care for the eggs until they hatch and keep the hatchlings from killing each other. These teams of young adults have been carefully matched to form pairs. Romance follows as expected. The teams accomplish their primary mission and travel to the dragons' home planet to address a threat that imperils not only the dragons but all life on their planet. The young adults rely on their creativity to solve the current threats while laying the groundwork for a sustainable future free of violence and random bloodshed."

"It seems that Vampire killers get no respect. One would think that protecting people from a race that would suck them dry and throw the desiccated husks on the street would earn some respect. One would think that converting large mythological beasts from enemies to allies would earn some gratitude. One would think that healers who use more than medicine along with their medical training, could practice without fear of exposure. Such is not the case. The book 'Cowgirls and Dragons' explores the lives of people who do these things and who are forced into hiding because of it. 'Cowgirls and Dragons' is the sequel to 'My Three Warlocks.' The team, led by a teenage girl, finds ways to make peace and form coalitions with creatures who were enemies of both the humans and each other. Allied with powerful ancient wizards, they win over the dragons, shape-shifters, and practitioners of dark magic. The only adversaries they cannot overcome are the vampires, despite many gruesome lop-sided battles, and the evangelicals. Even the wisdom and counsel of ancient wizards and a shaman do not prepare them for the conflicts that lie ahead. Left to their instincts, the youngsters forge on with their lives recruiting friends. They learn to use the magic they are only beginning to understand the hard way, in combat. For the girl leader and her boyfriend, their most trusted and reliable companions are their horses. Noble, intelligent steeds, they carry their friends places no horse should be expected to go. This book is suitable for teens and older, but it is not suitable for evangelicals."

"Three Warlocks, brothers, triplets, run a ranch where they train horses for cowboys and cattle ranchers. They use their special powers to keep their ranch solvent and, despite the recent death of their adoptive mother, are content with their lives. All that changes when a pre-teen equestrian shows up with her father to buy a horse. On the same day, triplet witches and their mother are directed to the ranch by a mysterious stranger. The witch's mother and the girl's father have a history, and only he knows that none of this is a coincidence. Within two days, the warlocks, the witches, their mother, the girl, her father, and some friends and family use their powers to fight a forest fire. They are then recruited by the mysterious stranger, an ancient wizard, to protect a rape victim. The woman was raped by a magical being who intends to steal the baby and kill her. This wholesale rape of indigenous populations has been going on for a long time, and the wizard believes he finally has the team to stop it. The wizard quickly loses control of the team, and it completes the mission without him. The team takes on missions without the wizard, relegating him to advisor status. After several missions on their own, the team emerges far more powerful than anything the wizard could have imagined. Even though he created the team, he does not control them and, in some ways, the 'battle group' he created controls him."

"A geeky young owner of a small Boston electronics store has his life turned upside down when he visits a woman’s apartment down the hall searching for food for a stray kitten he has just picked up. The woman’s sister embroils him in a vendetta against her father’s hate crime murderer and drafts him into her small task force using social networking, the Internet, legal, and “extra-legal” assistance to track and trap a serial rapist who targets single mothers with small children. Some things are what they seem, and some aren’t. The story reads quickly and would be suitable for high school students and adults."
