"Danger, intrigue, threatening death, plus strange and bewildering locations. All these were part of what youthful Biff Brewster encountered. They were surprising because it was part of what was meant to be a pleasant vacation at the beginning.
Biff’s father and uncle were both well-traveled and accustomed to unusual situations and they felt it could be a matter of learning and enjoyment for the sixteen-year-old boy. He was big, strong, and very intelligent, so his relatives felt such a trip could add to a future for the lad. It turned out far differently than expectations.
A jungle wilderness jam-packed with hazards and thrills. That’s what eventually confronted Biff going through territory inhabited with dreaded head-hunters. It had begun when Biff boarded a plane bound for Brazil and was handed an unexpected letter and told to keep it safe.
Among other things, Biff had a knack for making friends and it didn’t take long for another of those to happen; this time with a young native named Kamuka who, in turn, excitedly accepted the association. Fortunately, both were capable of teaming up to handle the perilous misadventures. The two young men several times were surprised and shocked but were able to keep their wits and physical capabilities to ward off many obstacles. You can learn about these by listening."
"An unusual call from Chinese merchant Ling Tang began an ongoing set of circumstances for young Biff Brewster. He was planning a trip to Rangoon in Burma to visit his Uncle Charlie.
The uncle had bounced around the world quite a bit. He had flown in a fighter plane during the Korean conflict and had traveled as much as he could about the Orient on his furlough time. After the military stretch he formed a fleet of planes for Explorations Unlimited with an old pilot friend. Their company had headquarters at Unhao on the Irriwaddy River, northeast of Rangoon near the Chinese border.
It seemed such a trip for Biff would be a good way to spend the remainder of his summer vacation from school. It was a pleasant thought for beginning something very different to look forward to. However, “different” isn’t a strong enough description of what was going to happen.
With departure time coming up, Biff got a rude awakening one morning … one that led up to his being given a mysterious ring with the inscription, “Fortune shines upon, and the gods protect, the wearer of this ring,” What was meant? You can listen and find out."
"This story begins with travel time for the entire Brewster family as they plan a trip to Hawaii. It includes Bruce (“Biff”), his Mother, and Dad, with the younger twins, Ted and Monica. It’s really exciting for the twins because they have never been outside the continent. One of Dad Tom Brewster’s chief reasons for the journey is a planned meeting with Dr. Johann Weber, scientist and staff consultant for Ajax Mining Company. They were expecting to meet Weber on arrival but a shocking surprise was ahead. Passing a newsstand when they reached the Honolulu airport, a newspaper had a major headline: ”Dr. Weber, Famous Scientist … Missing!”
Early indications indicate kidnapping with Weber’s life at stake due to an extremely important scientific project. Among the many problems are a sunken sloop and a hidden stash of Cesium, an extremely rare mineral used to propel rockets. There are indications an unscrupulous group plans using it to make a conquest of the moon. Biff and his dad get unexpected help from a new friend of Biff, Likake Mahenili, a skilled diver known as Lee to his friends. "Some months back Biff’s father went to India to legally open up some gold mines that had been absorbed by the India Republic. The setting for same was in exotic and mystical segments of India, with much action to be in and around the vicinity of the Himalayas. At first it was more of a sight-seeing tour than adventure with Biff accompanied by two friends from earlier times … Kamuka, met at the headwaters of the Amazon River in Brazil, and Likake (“Lee”) Mahenili of Hawaii. They headed out by sea and still had one more night to spend on shipboard as they reached Calcutta a day ahead of schedule. That city was part of what had once been the British Empire. It was sunset along the Calcutta waterfront. Reflection of the vivid tropical sky turned the murky water of the Hooghly River into a rippling rainbow. The river was alive with a variety of craft, including native sailboats, side-wheel steamers, as well as sturdy tugs, launches, and lighters that served the ocean-going ships moored in midstream along the strand. An innocent trip personified, but would it stay that way? They didn’t know yet, nor do we, so listening now is the best way to find out."
"As usual for the much-traveled young Biff Brewster, he had major components of adventure and intrigue when his Uncle Charlie contacted him to come to the Caribbean and help with a search for some valuable pearls in and around Martinique. They were first found by Brom Zook, father of Derek Zook, who first surprisingly met with Biff by accident. They were thoroughly astounded to find they looked identical enough to be twins. As the search Biff planned to join his uncle on, they became involved with an evil man named Dietz. He was sided by Crunch and Specks, a pair of relatively stupid men willing to do anything to help their master. The question was basically, “Were the pearls found,” and “Who found them?” An answer eventually occurs as you can find out by listening."

"The Log of a Cowboy is an account of a five-month drive of 3,000 cattle from Brownsville, Texas, to Montana in 1882 along the Great Western Cattle Trail.
