Just reading the synopsis of this book made me smile and feel a warm glow that Jilly Cooper was back! With her wicked sense of humour and her attention to detail Jilly Cooper’s books may not be the stuff of high brow literature but they will stand the test of time as great social commentary!! Plenty of drama, sex, scandal and horses to keep any fan happy.
Shortlisted for the Galaxy Popular Fiction Book of the Year 2010.

Synopsis
Jump! by Jilly Cooper
Etta Bancroft - sweet, kind, still beautiful - adores racing and harbours a crush on one of its stars, the handsome high-handed owner-trainer Rupert Campbell-Black. When her bullying husband dies, Etta 's selfish, ambitious children drag her from her lovely Dorset house to live in a hideous modern bungal win the Cotswold village of Willow wood. Etta's life is transformed when she finds a horribly mutilated filly wandering in the woods. She names her Mrs Wilkinson and nurses her back to health. The filly charms everyone in the village, and when tests reveal her to be a spectacularly well-bred racehorse a village syndicate is formed to put the filly into training. Captivating vast crowds as she progresses from point-to-point to major races, she brings fame and fortune to the syndicate, until, at last, she is entered in the greatest jump race of them all. Can Mrs Wilkinson win the Grand National? And can Etta gain her heart's desire?

Jilly Cooper is a well-known journalist, writer and media superstar. The author of many number one bestselling novels, including Riders, Rivals, Polo, The Man Who Made Husbands Jealous, Appassionata, Score! and Pandora, she and her husband live in Gloucestershire with several dogs and cats.
Fellow novelist SOPHIE KING on JILLY COOPER
Another author whom I met as a journalist! Her breathy voice
immediately casts you under a spell as does her writing. I loved her
earlier books like Pandora, which concentrated on one heroine's life but I also loved Riders and – well, all of them!.
