What makes Ford's novels so gripping is that there is little plot explained, rather it is driven through the characters – in the trade, it's called ‘Hard-Boiled'. Red Tide is the 4th in the ‘Corso’ series but only feel you have to start at the beginning if you are feeling especially purist! This time it’s a terrorist plot using modified ‘Ebola’ virus and the real potential of catastrophic loss of life – gripping stuff.
