A Guide to Getting Started with Investment

A great introduction and accessible to beginners

Designed to be accessible to beginners, ‘A Guide to Getting Started with Investment’ by Rik Tipton is a great starting point for those considering investing or just beginning to dip their toe in. This book goes on to explain, in language that is clear and easy to understand, different types of investments, what to look for when searching for a stockbroker, the different aspects of building an investment portfolio and the strategies and behaviours of successful investors.

Investing money has always been a daunting prospect to me, whereas I have friends who happily dip in and out of cryptocurrency or work with a stockbroker to invest their savings. I’m usually more of a worrier, the person asking “Isn’t it just safer to keep your money as cash in the bank” in the Introduction. I felt that ‘A Guide to Getting Started with Investment’ doesn’t try to make investment seem like a money-spinner, it felt like I received honest, clear advice about how to begin on an investment journey. This book covers everything from the very basics of getting started to the hot topics of the moment: cryptocurrencies and NFTs.

After reading this I would be more inclined to consider investing some of my savings as I feel that this book offers a strong foundational knowledge that makes the whole process feel less daunting. From the information in ‘A Guide to Getting Started with Investment’ I feel better equipped to look more seriously into investing.
