Because the intended scope of relevant applicability is not limited to circumstances within the United States, question is posed for internationally active German businesspersons: to what extent can the stringent sanctioning procedures of the USA be taken into consideration by German private law? A link is therefore provided for the regulations of international private law concerning the so-called (third-country) standards of intervention, and on the other hand, the comprehensive clause in substantive civil law, as for instance the regulations for interference with the means of transacting business.
