50 Badass Cat Ladies Who Rocked the World

50 Badass Cat Ladies Who Rocked the World Synopsis

No longer derogatory but a compliment, being called 'a cat lady' is now considered to be cool. Since J.D Vance called Kamala Harris a childless cat lady in 2021, while being interviewed by former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, the coined phrase became viral. In 2024, when Donald Trump chose him as his VP in the run-up to the presidential election, it sparked backlash on the web with women commenting "Never been more proud to be a childless cat lady!" Then followed Taylor Swift's statement post on Instagram to her 283 million fans: "I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election.

I'm voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them." Signed: Taylor Swift, Childless Cat Lady. This book celebrates the new trend of the proud cat lady by drawing 50 portraits of powerful women with their beloved cats, from the late 19th century until today. "Recently, embracing your inner cat lady has become not only acceptable, it's even fashionable […] our current cat lady era could be seen as a feminist win."
