The story of Noah before, during and after the flood. We all know the plot, the charm of this book is that Maine brings the whole family to life, fleshes out the characters to become real and does so with great wit and a surprising pace in such a well-known story. It’s lovely.
Comparison: Jim Crace, Yann Martel, Anita Diamant.
Similar this month: None but try Roddy Doyle or A L Kennedy for good writing.
