A Day Between Weathers Synopsis

Born on the isle of Yell in Shetland just at the end of the First World War, William Tait's life spanned the twentieth century. As his teaching career blossomed, his poetry began to attract attention; his first publication was in the Spectator in 1945. Finally, in 1980, this volume of collected poems was published, garnering wide acclaim. Divided into three sections - a miscellany, love poems, and war poems - but also expressed in three languages - English, Shetlandic and Scots, Tait's gutsy but tender voice triumphs.
