Guardian of Rome - Incendium

Guardian of Rome - Incendium Synopsis

A former soldier must investigate a series of grisly murders in Imperial Rome. A thrilling historical mystery-adventure from the author of the Bernicia Chronicles.

Marcus Ulpius Bellator survived the brutality of war on the furthest frontiers of the Roman Empire. Now living at its very heart in the Eternal City itself, things haven't worked out the way he'd envisaged. His marriage to Tillia is troubled, and his love of gambling and wine are beginning to take their toll.

Everything changes the night his home goes up in flames. Bellator arrives to find the tenement ablaze and Tillia, trapped inside, has died in the fire.

In order to prevent similar tragedies, Bellator becomes a Vigile - a Watchman of Rome. He soon discovers that the fire that took Tillia's life was no accident.

A killer is on the loose... a killer who strikes seemingly at random. With the victim count slowly increasing, piece by piece Bellator seeks a pattern in the madness as he hunts the murderer through the streets of Rome.
