As well as providing a photographic record of village street scenes and buildings this compilation also gives an insight into the everyday life of the people who have lived, worked and played in the area since the end of the nineteenth century. The pictures include class groups of all the local schools, neighbourhood shops and merchants, organisations and groups, tradesmen and industry and a section on the now-defunct coalmines. This pictorial history will delight anyone who has lived in or has associations with Frampton Cotterell and Coalpit Heath, inspiring memories of more tranquil times and a more peaceful village life.
