Born and brought up in Leicester, Lou Wakefield is a writer, director and actor. She played the original Janet in the Rocky Horror Show at the Kings Road Theatre in the mid-1970s; for many years she played Jackie Woodstock in The Archers; TV appearances include Morse, The Bill and Casualty. She has directed Coronation Street and Brookside among others.
