Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. In beginning to-day a course of lectures on the Sci ence of Religion, - or I should rather say on some pre liminary points that have to be settled before we can enter upon a truly scientific study(deg)of the religions of the world, - I feel as I felt when first pleading in this very place for the Science of Language.
