About

A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings Synopsis

A short pamphlet containing two magical realist short stories by Gabriel García Márquez.

Strange, wondrous things happen in these two short stories, which are both the perfect introduction to Gabriel García Márquez, and a wonderful read for anyone who loves the magic and marvels of his novels.

After days of rain, a couple find an old man with huge wings in their courtyard in 'A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings' -- but is he an angel?

Accompanying 'A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings' is the short story 'The Sea of Lost Time', in which a seaside town is brought back to life by a curious smell of roses.

'The most important writer of fiction in any language' Bill Clinton

'Marquez has influenced the world' Carolina Herrera

'Márquez is wonderful on the transformative and redemptive powers of love . . . storytelling magic' Tatler
