Frequencies

Frequencies Synopsis

Divided we live, united we fall. In a world where human proximity triggers a deadly reaction, a virtual relationship via CB radio is a lifefline for a woman alone-until it isn't.In the aftermath of a global outbreak that has turned human contact into a certain death sentence, the last woman on Earth battles isolation and psychological breakdown with the help of a man whose voice crackles through her CB transceiver.

Confined to a remote mountain cabin, Hannah subsists on canned food and her nightly transmissions with Joe. Their calls help Hannah keep a grip on reality but her reliance on him comes at an unexpected price-their over the-airwaves relationship becomes intimate, intrusive, and finally crosses a threshold that reveals the secret of her hidden refuge and fractures her tenuous sense of safety. When the traumas of the past collide with an uncertain future, Hannah must determine if the radio signal is her salvation or the return of a familiar threat.

Debut author Sophie Ganic explores the pitfalls of both autonomy and connection in this searing and claustrophobic twist on domestic noir and feminist post-apocalyptic horror.
