Ghostman by Roger Hobbs

Sarah Broadhurst's view...

An unusual debut thriller in that our ‘hero’ is very far from being a classic heroic baddie-fighting good guy. Instead he’s on the side of the baddies, a fixer for hire to help clean up when things go wrong, living in shadows and the grey areas around what good or bad really are. So how you ultimately feel about this thriller will entirely depend on how you feel about not cheering for a good guy and how shadowy our hero really is. But regardless you should find it pretty gripping, fast-paced and exciting.

If you like Roger Hobbs you might also like to read books by Ken Bruen, Malcolm Mackay and Jake Arnott.

Ghostman by Roger Hobbs

Fast, hard and knowing: this is an amazing debut full of intrigue, tradecraft and suspense. Read it immediately! (Lee Child (author of the Jack Reacher novels)). I make things disappear. It's what I do. This time I'm tidying up the loose ends after a casino heist gone bad. The loose ends being a million cash. But I only have 48 hours, and there's a guy out there who wants my head in a bag. He'll have to find me first. They don't call me the Ghostman for nothing...

Reviews

Quite astonishing ... Mature, impeccably researched and written with supreme panache, it moves like a black mamba and is every bit as deadly. Fierce, taut and with an intensity that burns the lungs, I doubt whether there will be a debut thriller to match it this year, or even next - DAILY MAIL

Startling and sparkling assurance ... A star is born? Quite possibly SUNDAY TIMES Full of authentic detail, seedy locations and a high corpse count, it keeps you hooked until the very last page - SUNDAY TELEGRAPH

Brilliantly clever, gripping and action-packed. Utterly original and bound to become a big-budget movie. - SUNDAY MIRROR

Fast, hard and knowing: this is an amazing debut full of intrigue, tradecraft and suspense. Read it immediately! -- LEE CHILD
