One of Britain’s most outspoken female sex bloggers has been tipped to overthrow Fifty Shades of Grey author EL James as the country’s leading erotic novelist.

Georga McCrae, the editor of The BDSM Times and dubbed a “walking sex encyclopaedia”, has penned what could be the most raunchy paperback ever written.

The Collared Slave, her first full-length novel, is described as an “erotic blockbuster” which delves into the underworld of BDSM and sex dungeons. McCrae, 52, already enjoys cult-like status among BDSM (bondage, discipline, sadism and masochism) enthusiasts. And her adults-only blog, The F*ckingham Tales, has a 15,000-strong worldwide fan base while her website – which features an X-rated gallery and nude portraits– receives more than 10,000 visitors each week. But now her unique form of “hardcore mummy/daddy porn” looks set to go mainstream thanks to an increasing lust for edgy erotic fiction. A spokesman for Lovereading.co.uk, one of the UK’s biggest and most respected book review site, said the public’s appetite for racy novels could catapult McCrae to stardom. Undeterred, McCrae followed in the footsteps of EL James and other authors by self-publishing the novel and promoting it to her legion of fans. The book has already sold out on Amazon UK since its official release last week. McCrae, a former secondary school teacher, said: “Some of the content of the novel was so controversial that it made it very difficult to get published. “I was told that the book wouldn’t sit on any existing bookshop ‘shelves’, and I wasn’t prepared to tame down my writing, so I decided to start a new shelf – one I’ve coined ‘hardcore mummy porn’.” Journalist and author Helen Croydon has also backed McCrae as “one to watch” and predicts that, like EL James, McCrae will be snapped up a major publisher in coming weeks.
