Books By Vera Sharav - Author
Vera Sharav is a human rights advocate and founder of the Alliance for Human Research Protection (AHRP), a nonprofit dedicated to promoting transparency and accountability in biomedical research. Her human rights advocacy focused on exposing government-approved and taxpayer-funded unethical experiments. Her advocacy has led to significant achievements, including halting unethical, government-approved experiments, such as the EPA's pesticide exposure study on African American toddlers, smallpox vaccine trials on children, and so-called violence-prediction experiments on NYC boys of color. She also exposed the exploitation of NYC children of color in foster care who were used as guinea pigs in highly toxic, experimental AIDS drug and vaccine trials, prompting federal investigations. Her efforts have influenced national debates on research ethics, contributing to the shutdown of twenty-nine clinical trials at the National Institute of Mental Health in 1999. In 2023, Sharav expanded her advocacy through documentaries like Never Again Is Now Global, The Great Taking, and From Tyranny to Awakening, which examine contemporary threats to human rights, government overreach, and global financial stability while inspiring action to reclaim fundamental freedoms.
