Rifat Latifi is a Professor and Chairman of surgery at New York Medical College (NYMC), School of Medicine, and Director of the Department of Surgery at Westchester Medical Center Health Network. Dr. Latifi is specialized in trauma, general surgery, and critical care—with special interests in complex re-operative surgery, geriatric surgery, telemedicine, and nutrition support for critically ill patients. He is the author or co-author of more than 250 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, has written or edited 19 books, and serves on the editorial boards of a number of peer-reviewed journals. He is the founding president of Kosovo College of Surgeons and the Editor-in-Chief of Kosovo Journal of Surgery.
