Dr. Stavropoulos is the Head of Manufacturing Processes Modelling and Energy Efficiency, in the Laboratory for Manufacturing Systems and Automation, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics at the University of Patras.  His main research interests are focused in the field of conventional, non-conventional and micro-manufacturing processes. 

Dr. Stavropoulos holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering and an M.Sc. in Advanced Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sussex, UK, a Ph.D. in Engineering from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics, University of Patras, Greece, and an M.B.A. from the HoU, Greece. He worked among others, as a Design Engineer (2000-2001) in Flowtronic Pumps Ltd, UK, Research Engineer (2001-2007) and Research Project Manager (2007-2009) in Laboratory of Manufacturing Systems & Automation and as WCP and Production Manager (2009-2014) at Crown Holdings Inc., Bevcan, Europe and Middle East Division.
