Marlen Gabriel was born in Hamburg, Germany. She has an M.A. in English from the University of Paris, and an M.A. in TESL from Hunter College, CUNY. She has edited and translated Auf Asche Gehen: Gedichte zum Holocaust by Barbara Wind (EOS Verlag, 2004). Her children's stories were broadcast on rbb in 2004 (Germany) and re-broadcast on rbbKultur in 2021.
