Books By George Nakos - Author

George Nakos is a professor emeritus of mathematics at the U.S. Naval Academy and an instructor for the engineering programs in the Whiting School of Engineering of Johns Hopkins University.

George was educated in mathematics in Athens (B.Sc. U. of Athens), in London (M.Sc. King's College, U. of London), and in Baltimore (Ph.D. Johns Hopkins U.).

George has taught and designed a variety of courses for USNA and Hopkins. His interests are in algebra, topology, cryptography, and programming. He has received several awards and has authored texts.

• 2005 John Smith Award for Distinguished College or University Teaching given annually by the Maryland-Washington DC-Virginia Section of the Mathematical Association of America
• 2003 U.S. Naval Academy Teaching Excellence Award given annually to one faculty member
