Danielle Dirksis an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Occidental College in Los Angeles. Her research and teaching focus on punishment, racial justice, and violent victimization. Her work has been featured in the New York Times, National Public Radio, Gawker, Ms. Magazine, and the Chronicle of Higher Education. She co-founded the national survivor advocacy organization, End Rape on Campus, and is the co-author of How Ethical Systems Change: Lynching and Capital Punishment (Routledge, 2011).
