Debabrata Sikdar received his B.E. (Electronics & Instrumentation) and M.Sc. (Physics) from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, India in 2008. From 2008 to 2009 he worked as an Engineer with General Electric in Hyderabad, India. In 2010, he left the industry job for higher studies and he received his M.E. (Communication Engineering) from BITS in 2012. The same year, he was awarded the prestigious Victoria India Doctoral Scholarship to support his doctoral research at Monash University, Victoria, Australia. In 2016, he received his Ph.D. on nanoplasmonics from the Department of Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering at Monash University under the supervision of Professor Malin Premaratne and Professor Wenlong Cheng.
