Claire Joseph has been the Director of the Medical Library at Mount Sinai South Nassau in Oceanside, NY for more than 20 years. Mount Sinai South Nassau is a 455-bed acute care, teaching community hospital and is the Long Island flagship of the Mount Sinai Health System NY, NY. As a solo librarian, Claire manages all aspects of library management and services. Claire is active in the Medical Library Association and other professional organizations. She is Chair Elect of the Consumer and Patient Health Education Caucus, a column editor for the Nursing and Allied Health Caucus newsletter, and a past chair of the Hospital Libraries Section. She also is an active member of several hospital committees.

She is the author of The Medical Library Association Guide to Developing Consumer Health Collections, published by Rowman & Littlefield in 2018.
