A full-time writer, Charles J. Farmer specializes in accounts of outdoor adventures for the Springfield News-Leader, as well as for various magazines. He is also the cohost of the popular radio program Outside Story. He is the author of Unspoiled Beauty: A Personal Guide to Missouri Wilderness, and he wrote the introduction for Images of the Ozarks, both available from the University of Missouri Press.
