Dr. D. Arulbalachandran, Assistant Professor in the Department of Botany, School of Life Science, Periyar University, Periyar Palkalai Nagar, Salem, Tamil Nadu, India. His area of specialization in research is plant molecular breeding and stress physiology. He completed his doctoral degree in Botany, Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu and he has more than ten years of teaching experience. He is focusing on the research in the field of cytogenetics, mutation breeding and molecular analysis in crops. He completed a research project under UGC and involved in the administrative work pertaining to academic side as a board member for curricula in various institutions and member of various scientific societies. He is reviewer of various national and international journals and he has published research articles in national and international repute. He is also published two books viz., Ecology- Pollution and Biodiversity and Mutation Breeding in Crop Plants and also contributed book chapters in Springer
